I recently ordered boxes of hangers (www.hangers.com - glorious) to fulfill my lifelong dream of having everything in my closet hung on matching hangers. I started with my dresses - arranged by color of course - and found that I own exactly 100. Absurd. The collection includes some I have never worn and some that I have had for at least 8 years. Why am I not willing to part with these? Do I think there is a perfect occasion for these lurking just around the corner? Because really there are a few that only seem most appropriate for a sorority formal circa 2001, and my school didn't even have a Greek system.
Please comment - The goal is to end up with an edited closet full of only fabulous dresses. Insights such as "Damn girl you look good today" "Burn that hideous thing" and "Looks terrible on you, please send to me" are all appreciated.
